Printlet Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 26, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Printlet (the "App"), developed by Juan Miguel Torres ("we," "our," or "us"), handles information when you use it on Android or iOS.
Printlet opens websites that you choose inside the App and lets those websites print to a Bluetooth thermal printer. We designed it to work without accounts and without sending your data to us. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Summary
- We do not require an account and do not collect your name, email address or phone number.
- Your App settings are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.
- Receipts and other images you print go directly from the website to your printer over Bluetooth. The App does not upload or keep them.
- The App shows banner ads from Google AdMob, which collects some device information as described below.
- Websites you open in the App have their own privacy policies.
Information Stored on Your Device
To remember your setup, the App saves the following on your device only. We cannot see or access this information.
- Website addresses you add, and which one opens by default
- Printer connection: the Bluetooth address of the last printer you connected, so the App can reconnect automatically
- Preferences: paper width, theme colour, settings button position, and whether Bluetooth options are shown
Websites you open may also save cookies and site data inside the App, just as they would in a web browser. That data belongs to those websites.
This information is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data. On Android, the App's data is excluded from device backups.
Printing
When a website you open asks the App to print, it passes an image (for example a receipt) to the App, which sends it to your connected printer over Bluetooth. The image is processed in memory for printing only. It is not stored, shared or uploaded by the App.
Websites You Open in the App
Printlet works like a browser for the websites you add. When you visit a website, that website (not us) may receive information such as your IP address, device and browser details, and anything you enter on its pages. Each website is responsible for its own data practices, so please review the privacy policy of any website you use in the App.
If you allow the App to use your camera, microphone or photos, websites you open in the App can use them when you take an action on that site, for example scanning a code or uploading a picture. Only add websites you trust.
Permissions
The App asks for the following permissions. You can refuse or revoke any of them in your device settings; only the related feature will stop working.
- Bluetooth / Nearby devices: to find, connect to and print on your Bluetooth thermal printer.
- Location (Android 11 and older only): older Android versions require location permission to scan for Bluetooth devices. The App does not collect, store or share your location.
- Camera and microphone: so websites you open can take photos, scan codes or record with audio when you use those features.
- Photos and media: so you can upload images to websites you open, and save images from them.
- Internet and network state: to load websites and show ads.
Photos, video and audio captured through these permissions are sent only to the website you are using, when you choose to use them. We do not receive them.
Advertising: Google AdMob
The App is free and shows banner ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
- Device identifiers, including the advertising ID (Android) or IDFA (iOS, only if you allow tracking)
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Device and app information, such as model, operating system and app version
- Ad interactions, such as ads shown and tapped, and diagnostic data
This information is collected by Google under its own policies. See How Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your ad choices
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads, then delete your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization.
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- You can also manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not operate servers for the App, and we do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers or other contact details
- The content of websites you visit or what you type on them
- Receipts, images or documents you print
- Your photos, videos, audio recordings or contacts
- Your precise location
- Payment or financial information
The App does not include analytics or crash-reporting services.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade or share your personal information. The only third party that receives data from the App itself is Google AdMob, as described above. Websites you open receive information directly from you as explained in "Websites You Open in the App".
Data Retention and Deletion
Because your settings are stored only on your device, you control them completely. To delete them, remove websites and printers in the App's settings, clear the App's data in your device settings, or uninstall the App. Data collected by Google AdMob is retained according to Google's policies; you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time.
Security
Settings are kept in the App's private storage on your device, and ad
traffic is encrypted in transit by Google's SDK. Websites you add may use
https:// or, for local network devices, http://;
we recommend https:// for any website on the internet. No method
of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Printlet is a business and productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will help remove it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, including under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, the GDPR or similar laws, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its processing. Because we do not hold personal data about you, most requests can be handled directly on your device as described above. For data processed by Google AdMob, use Google's controls linked in this policy. You may also contact us with any request.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when the App gains new features. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Effective Date." Please review it periodically.
